Does anyone know of a place in central texas that has affordable axis hunts. All i ever seem to see is 1500.00 and up. Maybe that is what they all cost but that is a bit high for me. Even a fallow hunt would be ok. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Jeramy, check out www.dosplumasranch.com , I worked at this ranch for alittle under a year and its a great place to hunt. They have fallow but no axis. Prices are great and accomodations are grand. If you decide to give Allen, the owner, a call tell him Brice sent you. Talk to you later man.

I just ran across this ad on the San Antonio Craiglist, I don't know anything about the ranch or person advertising but I don't think you will find a hunt cheaper than $150 for an axis doe and $300 for an axis buck.  http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/grd/527978462.html .

I have hunted here twice this year with great success and had one heck of a time to boot.  My next hunt there will be next weekend and I plan on good success as usual.

There are no fences so this is open range hunting and I think it is superb with alot of animals travelling through the area.  Lookover his website and give him a call, I am not associated with his operation in anyway other than a very happy hunter who will be back even after the Army transfers me to Kentucky in Feb to hunt with them.  Call and let them know Robert  referred you please.

There is a link on another forum about his ranch with some review, my pics are posted there with my 3 animals as well.  Look at the homepage and click on the see what other hunters are saying about the 4-A.  I would post the link but it is on another website and I do not know if that is taboo here on this forum.

Enjoy and man do Axis deer taste delicious.

Looks like a great deal. Nice to see affordable hunting still out there.

Guns don't kill people....Its those pesky little bullets making lots of holes that all the blood leaks out of.

7MRanches is saling axis and fallow hunts. You stay on the ranch for two nights and hunt for the animal of your choice and it cost $1950. It is 700 acres under high fence with a lot of brush and cover. If you kill a deer you also get a complimentary hog hunt. I know it is a little more than what you want to pay but it is well worth it. There are pictures on 7MRanches.com.
