I was hoping to make San Antonio, Houston and Dallas SCI Awards Banquet but we had scheduling conflicts. However, we did make the Austin SCI Awards Banquet. It was neat to see a TexasHuntFish.com member win an award (Congrats Jason Carter).

During the auction, there are several hunts that sell way over cost because the proceeds go to the local charity. However, there are usually at least one or two hunts that go for a great price.

The photos of the event are below, including a couple of Jason Carter who won "Hunter of the Year, South Africa" based on his amazing Honeymoon Hunt with his new bride (Stephanie is also in the photos, along with his mother.) If you haven't seen them already, you should check out the videos of his impressive pistol shooting in our Video Library.

There is also a photo of Olivia Angelloz who won "Dangerous Game Hunter of the Year". Her bio posted on smoutdoors.com says the following:

"At 28 years of age, Olivia might well be one of the most experienced female hunters in the industry. She has hunted Canada, Mexico, several states in the Lower 48 and several of the countries on the continent of Africa, not to mention the South Pacific. She is also a measurer for Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young, Rowland Ward, and is a master measurer for SCI. Olivia is formerly the 2003 Mrs. Nebraska crown holder and was a personal assistant to Dick and Mary Cabela. She has a passion for the outdoors that you just have to hear from her."

Finally, there is a photo of another member of TexasHuntFish.com who walked up to me and opened his shirt to show his support - thank you AxisHunter.

We are editing the video and will post it later.

Congratulations to Jason Carter for a job well done.

Hey AxisHunter, I don't think anyone could have given Parrish a better award, Jason's smile says it all.

Jason P. thanks for sharing the event with us and for keeping this site going for us to enjoy.
