Oasis Outback had it's 2nd Annual Dove Hunting Expo on the opening day of dove season this year and it was a hit. Uvalde has such a dense population of Texans who LOVE to be outdoors, hunting and fishing. One of my favorite quotes from the weekend was when someone held the TexasHuntFish.com t-shirt up, read it out loud, and said, "Hunt Hard. Fish Smart. Explore Texas. Well shoot, I do that every weekend. I need this shirt."

There were several vendors who had tables set up outside, in the courtyard, and along the outskirts of the store.  They ranged from the Hacienda Ranch to the Marines to homemade Jerky to the Del Rio Chamber of Commerce, all giving out information, free samples, or raffle tickets to upcoming events.

Inside the store there was a lot going on as well. They were giving away door prizes the entire day, serving up some great BBQ from their Grille, and the staff was so friendly and helpful, making sure that everyone who walked through the door was having fun and getting what they needed. If you haven't been to Oasis Outback yet, you should think about taking a trip soon.

A special thanks to Brad Farr, the Marketing Director at Oasis Outback, who made sure I was all set up and having fun while I was there.

As you can see in the photos, there was also a climbing wall for the kids in the parking lot, right next to the big white tent where the Texas Whitetail Classic Banquet was drawing in the crowds.

If you haven't already heard of the Texas Whitetail Classic, it is a Statewide Hunting Tournament that allows deer hunters like YOU who own or lease property or hunt public land in Texas to compete for prizes and awards in the region they hunt. TWC is divided into 8 geographical regions. As a result, you only compete with hunters in your region. This gives you a great chance to win a category.

Bubba Ammann (and his family) worked really hard and did such a great job organizing this event!  I talked to some of the participants (kids and adults) of the Texas Whitetail Classic, and they seemed excited and very pleased with the competition layout and the awards they received. If it went this well it's FIRST year, I can't wait to see what happens at next year's competition! Don't forget to REGISTER for TWC before you harvest.

Sounds like it was a good time!  Did you take a shot at climbing the rock wall?

I just got this email from Brad Farr, Public Relations/Marketing for OASIS OUTBACK that he sent out to the sponsors of this years Dove Expo, educating people about the upcoming Hunting Expo. Although Thanksgiving Weekend means I will be in East Texas at our family farm, it I wasn't, I would be at the Oasis Outback. Put it on your calendar if you live in the area.

WOW!!!! What a great turn-out.

Thank you for being apart of another successful Expo at the Oasis Outback. Attendance was up to nearly 3400! Everyone that I had the chance to talk with said they had a great time and were very impressed with the crowd. I want to thank you for helping make this Expo a huge success. Without your participation and contributions these Expo's would not be nearly as successful as they are.

We hope that you had a great time and feel that these Expo's are worth your continued support. If you can offer any suggestions or ideas to help us get better at these events, please feel free to phone or email me. I am always looking for new ideas to increase our attendance.

I also wanted to take this time to invite you to participate in our next Expo, as most of you know, this will be our 3rd Annual Hunting Expo. This Expo is November 24th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We expect the attendance to grow from last years 4000 people. This Expo is a fun event with more for the entire family. More games, prize give aways, music, celebrities, helicopter rides and people! This is a great opportunity to show our appreciation to the hunter and the outdoorsman. We would love to count on your continued support.

It takes two things to put these events on, your valued participation and money. As you know, advertising and marketing these expo's, is the largest cost we incur. We would like to ask you to consider, if you can, a sponsorship roll in our November Expo. As a sponsor you will help increase our advertising to reach thousands more customers. Through radio, T.V., print, Internet, direct mail, flyers and billboards.

As a title sponsor, your company will receive top promotional billing on all forms of advertising. We will tag all radio spots with " Sponsored by .......". All print ads will have company logo and tag line. You will also get banner ads on our web sites and company logo on the event T-shirt. We print 1,000 or more, depending on participation, to give away during the event.

On these shirts, we place 8 to 10 sponsors logo's. We will also place your companies banners inside the store and out front prominently for all to see. We also have a weekly radio show, the Oasis Outback Outdoor Show, that airs Saturday mornings at 10am on KVOU 104.9 FM. Every week the show reaches 11,000 listeners. As a title sponsor we can broadcast an entire show on your companies product.

We will also place your companies logo as a title sponsor on all tables inside the restaurant, the Oasis Outback Bar-B-Q and Grill, where we serve 2000 customers per week.

The cost for a title sponsorship is $2500.00
The cost of a basic sponsorship is $1500.00
The T-Shirt sponsorship is $500.00

Basic sponsorship gets you all of the above, except, radio commercial tag lines and the 30 minute radio "info-mercial".

T-Shirt sponsorship gets your logo on the shirt only.

We limit the number of sponsors to ensure that those sponsors don't get "lost in the crowd". Having more than 10 logo's on a shirt, would make the logo's too small to be of any real value.

Please understand that these will be offered on a first come first serve basis.

As we have done in the past, these dollar amounts can be "traded" out. For example, if you would like to have your company logo on the T-shirt for the $500.00, we would accept a merchandise/store credit for retail value of $500.00. Of course if you feel like you can participate in any other way, we are happy and willing to work with you in any way we can. We have set a deadline for sponsorships due to printing and advertising logistics. The deadline to participate is October 19th. If that presents a problem for any of you, please contact me so we can work things out. Let's get creative and work together to pull off another great event!!

To those of you that were unable to make the event, you were truly missed and we hope we can count on you for the November Expo.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions you have.

Thank you from all of us at the Oasis Outback for your continued support and participation.

Sincerely,
Brad Farr
